These classes are part of the Tai Chi for Health Programme (Tai Chi for arthritis and falls prevention) and are a modification of the traditional Sun style of Tai Chi.

The Tai Chi for Health programme can help to:

  • improve flexibility and muscle strength
  • ease pain and stiffness
  • improve balance and decrease the risk of falls
  • improve physical function and mobility
  • improve posture

Tai Chi for Health classes are suitable for:

  • those with arthritis and other medical conditions
  • anyone wanting to improve balance and co-ordination
  • those wanting to maintain or improve mobility
  • those with poor posture
  • as Tai Chi for Health can be practised in sitting as well as standing, almost anyone, of any physical condition, can begin and continue to progress regardless of age.
